The Yamunotri and Gangotri temples are two of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in Uttarakhand, India, forming the starting points of two of India’s most revered rivers—Yamuna and Ganga. Visiting these dhams is considered spiritually uplifting and is a major part of the Himalayan pilgrimage circuit.
This 5 Days / 4 Nights journey offers devotees a perfect blend of devotion, natural beauty, and peaceful Himalayan surroundings. The trip allows pilgrims to comfortably explore Yamunotri Temple and Gangotri Temple, perform sacred rituals, and experience the serene origins of the holy rivers while traveling through scenic mountain landscapes.
1. Yamunotri Location: Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand, at an altitude of ~3,291 meters Significance: Yamunotri is the source of River Yamuna and is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. Pilgrims take holy dips in the hot water springs nearby, which are believed to have medicinal and spiritual benefits. Temple Details: The main temple was built in 1839 by Maharani Guleria of Jaipur. It is open from late April / early May to October (depends on weather). Access: 6–7 km trek from Janki Chatti or 13 km trek from Hanuman Chatti.
2. Gangotri Location: Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand, at an altitude of ~3,100 meters Significance: Gangotri is the origin of River Ganga, considered sacred by Hindus. The Gangotri Temple, dedicated to Goddess Ganga, is visited by thousands of pilgrims during the Char Dham Yatra. Temple Details: Built by Gorakhnath in the 18th century, it marks the starting point of the river, which emerges from the Gaumukh glacier. The temple remains open from late April / early May to November. Access: 3 km trek from the roadhead at Gangotri town to the temple area.
Day 01 :
Haridwar To Barkot-Barkot Stay - (180 Kms/6 Hours)
Our journey starts from Haridwar, you will be picked up from your hotel at Haridwar/Rishikesh/Dehradun airport and driven to Barkot. During this time, you will also be given some sightseeing on the way, some of which will be main ones like Mussoorie and kempty fall. After reaching the hotel in the evening, we will check-in at the hotel and the rest of the day will be free and overnight stay will be at Barkot.
Day 02 :
Barkot To Janki Chatti, Janki Chatti To Barkot- Barkot Stay - (90 Kms/8-9 Hours)
Early morning after breakfast, drive to Janki chatti which is around 45 kms from barkot. Janki chatti is the starting point for trek route towards Yamunotri i.e. 6 Kms one way.
[you have option either walk or hire Pony or Doli at your own cost] Upon arrival at Yamunotri, take a Holy bath in Surya Kund (Hot spring) and visit Yamunotri temple "Darshan" and Pooja of pious "Yamuna Ji" at Divya Shila. Later return to Janki Chatti and then further drive back to Barkot. Overnight stay at Barkot.
Day 03 :
Barkot To Uttarkashi - Stay at Uttarkashi (100 Kms/ approx. 4 Hrs)
This morning after breakfast, check out from hotel and drive to Uttarkashi. During this time, you will also visit the one sightseeing on the way, that would be Shiv Gufa (Shri Prakateshwar Panchanan Mahadev Temple) Upon arrival check-in at hotel. Rest of the day free.
Day 04 :
Uttarkashi-Gangotri Darshan-Uttarkashi, Stay at Uttarkashi (100 Kms/ approx. 8 Hrs)
After breakfast we will leave for Gangotri Darshan. Enjoy the beautiful Harsil Valley on the way. On arrival at Gangotri, visit Gangotri Mata Temple and worship. Thereafter we drive back to Uttarkashi and visit the famous Temple of Uttarkashi i.e. Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Situated on Bank of River Bhagirathi.Overnight stay at Uttarkashi.
Day 05 :
Uttarkashi – Haridwar (180 Kms/approx. 9 Hrs)
After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and drive to Haridwar, on arrival you will transfer to the Railway station/airport to board your flight. We will drop any of these haridwar,Rishikesh,dehradun

9. If your travel time exceeds more then fixed days, then full day charges applicable Of car and hotels respectively. While visiting Kedarnath Temple, do not leave your luggage in the hotel room, for that you will have to pay the entire room rent separately.

11. If you are not able to reach your destination due to landslide/Over Crowded/Govt Restriction, in that case there will be no refund for any of your booked hotels and extra charges will be applicable wherever you stay.
